Hi, I’m Vanessa.

I’m a mother to two incredible grown-up children, the daughter of an inspirational mother and I believe I’ve been put on this earth to help your light shine that bit brighter.

I knew from a young age that I wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I started my career as a primary school teacher, watching my pupils grow in knowledge and confidence was such a privilege. And as I watched my own children shape their identity and start to make their mark on this world, I too was ready for a change. After 20 years as a teacher, my desire to help others led me to swap the classroom for a different kind of room.

As a trained reflexologist, I opened my own treatment room providing one-to-one sessions in both reflexology and head massage. At the same time, I also retrained in a range of perinatal services running classes in pregnancy yoga, baby massage and yoga, and toddler yoga. I experienced first hand how challenging, and sometimes lonely, it was raising a child. Facilitating these group classes and witnessing these women connect and support each other (even 10 years on!), has been incredibly powerful and rewarding.

My passion for helping people shine continues. I am using the many experiences I have gained over the last 10 years in therapy, training and wellness to help those who help others, make their light shine brighter.

In numbers, here’s a little more about how I’ve been helping people’s light shine brighter…

  • 10 years - as a member of the Association of Reflexologists as a qualified and practising reflexology and head massage practitioner

  • 10 years - teaching pre and post-natal yoga

  • 7 years - voluntary work at the Margaret Oates Mother & Baby Unit offering head, hand and foot massages to patients and staff

  • 6 years - training NHS staff across the UK in head, hand and foot massage techniques that they can use with their patients

  • 60 minutes - the length of virtual wellbeing sessions hosted across all NUH hospitals for trainee GP, registrar, consultant and ICU teams, Margaret Oates Mother & Baby Unit (Nottingham), and Beeches Mother & Baby Unit (Derby)

  • 80 practitioners - across the UK attended the virtual wellbeing session hosted on NHS Practitioner Health.
